Before & After
Elkington Sterling Punch Bowl

This Elkington punch bowl, measuring 19" from handle to handle, had numerous problems. Dents had to be removed from the body and part of the right handle. That part was cut out and the dents filled with sterling using pulse arc welding, the ornament rechased and engraved, then brazed back in place. The reason the handle dents weren't pulled out while still attached to the body was because they were cast and too heavy to remove. The caved-in base was pulled out and leveled; the rim rounded; the neck straightened; the frieze and handle repatinated; and the entire bowl hand polished.
